Our Chef de Partie role
For whiling away easy hours, The Beach Hut is a place to take a break from the surf, breathe deep and surround yourself with good food and great company.
This full-time position offers a 40-hour workweek, with all the benefits of working within our greater Watergate Bay Hotel team.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Supporting our Executive Chef and Head Chef in the organisation and control of kitchen operations.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the hotel’s standards of quality and consistency.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and personal presentation.
- Ensuring all kitchen procedures and schedules are followed, including daily checks and temperature logs.
- Preparing for service in line with projected demand.
- Supporting with stock organisation and replenishment as needed.
- Ensuring smooth running of kitchen and back-of-house areas.
- Carrying out food preparation, storage and service tasks efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times.

What you’ll be sharing with us
- Experience at Chef de Partie level, or readiness to step up
- A Food Hygiene certification
- NVQ Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent) as a minimum
- A genuine passion for food, particularly local and seasonal produce
- Flexibility with working hours and shift patterns
- A team-focused, supportive approach
- Strong attention to detail and high personal standards
- The ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop
- Professional presentation and a guest-focused mindset
