Chef de Rang – Coreus Restaurant, Waldorf Astoria London

About the Role

Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch is seeking an experienced Chef de Rang for Coreus Restaurant to join its pre-opening team for the highly anticipated launch of this luxury hotel later this year.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced luxury hotelier to be part of the founding team and shape an unparalleled guest experience at a landmark property.

Hotel Overview

Located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch will feature:

  • 100 elegant rooms and suites
  • 17,500 sq ft of private residences
  • Two signature restaurants:
    • Coreus by Clare Smyth (Michelin-starred)
    • Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud (Michelin-starred)
  • A world-class spa
  • State-of-the-art fitness facilities
  • Grand event spaces, including a ballroom for up to 320 guests

Responsibilities

As a Chef de Rang at Coreus Restaurant, you will be an integral part of the front-of-house team, leading your section and ensuring each guest experience reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise Commis Waiters within your section, fostering excellence in service
  • Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and discretion, creating an immediate sense of occasion
  • Take, place, and deliver guest orders with precision and attentive service throughout the meal
  • Prepare and maintain impeccable table and service set-ups in line with brand and restaurant standards
  • Handle cash and transactions strictly following hotel procedures
  • Manage guest enquiries and requests with swift, thoughtful solutions
  • Confidently recommend menu items and promote signature offerings and incentives
  • Ensure full compliance with luxury service expectations and brand guidelines
  • Support revenue targets and departmental performance
  • Maintain immaculate cleanliness and organisation of service areas
  • Comply fully with hotel security, fire regulations, and health & safety legislation
  • Adhere to local licensing laws and responsible service guidelines
  • Demonstrate strong environmental awareness and support sustainability initiatives
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other departments to deliver a cohesive, elevated guest experience

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous luxury/ultra-luxury hospitality experience (highly desirable)
  • Experience handling cash and POS systems
  • Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices
