Chef – Exceptional Care Home (Diss/Ipswich Area)

About the Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a motivated Chef to work in a leading care home based in the Diss, Ipswich area, catering to:

  • Residential clients
  • Respite care individuals
  • Residents with dementia support needs

You will join one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers, delivering first-class catering services in a supportive and caring environment.


Role Requirements

Essential Qualification:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Food Preparation and Catering

Key Responsibilities

$Complete menu planning in consultation with residents and the Manager $Oversee and participate in food preparation, cooking, and service across all catering areas $Ensure menus are clearly displayed, showing available choices for residents $Accommodate special diets and cultural dietary needs, ensuring diversity where possible $Monitor stock quantities and place orders according to the catering manual $Supervise and manage the kitchen team $Adhere to HACCP procedures and record compliance as required $Collaborate with the Bursar or Home Manager to maintain cost-effective food expenses within budget

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Proven Chef experience, ideally in a healthcare or hospitality setting
  • Exceptional cooking skills, with proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to create menus tailored to dietary requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident interaction
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, work under pressure, and prioritise tasks
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance procedures
  • Experience in training and supervising kitchen staff
