A look into the role
Working within a fast-paced kitchen environment, the Chef will apply methodical organisational skills, energy and attention to detail to lead our production of centrally developed recipes and menus ensuring food safety and high-quality meals at high volume.
You will understand the requirements of working in a professional kitchen environment and have a flair and enthusiasm for cooking with fresh quality ingredients.
As Chef you will:
- Preparing consistently high-quality fresh food.
- Allocate tasks to your team to ensure the smooth and efficient organisation and running of the kitchen.
- Use high specification kitchen tools and equipment correctly to produce consistently high quality dishes.
- Operate within all regulations, legislation and procedural requirements, with regards to food safety, health & safety, and trading standards.
- Maintaining quality and consistency in food production by using resources in line with organisations’ financial constraints, style, specifications and ethos.
- Effectively communicate with other key contacts to ensure effective working on shift, effective handovers etc.
- Supervise and motivate employees to achieve their maximum potential.
- Managing the commerciality of production lines and identifying market trends & commercial opportunities.
- Lead by example at all times, ensuring that high standards and safe working practices are adhered to.

Skills for Success
Joining us as Chef, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
- Relevant Catering Qualification.
- Food Safety Qualification.
- Previous experience working in a catering and /or hospitality kitchen environment.
- Commercial Awareness, and ability to deliver on Key Performance Indicators such as sales, costs and profitability.
- You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements).
The attributes you’ll need include:
- A flair and enthusiasm for cooking with fresh quality ingredients.
- Strong focus on people with an ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Ability to deliver at pace, while ensuring the highest quality of food.
If is desirable if you had:
- Experience working in a Fresh Food Production Kitchen.
- Previous Supervisory Experience
- Previous Experience working to budgets and/or targets.

Working Hours
