Chef Manager - Prince Avenue Primary

Catering Manager, Compass Group UK&I (for CH&CO)

We're recruiting an experienced Catering Manager who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service, and who can confidently oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for CH&CO on a full-time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week (across 44.6 weeks per year).

About the Role

As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our kitchens and service counters run smoothly, helping to deliver truly incredible food experiences.   • Mon–Fri: Mornings

Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a pivotal role in securing impeccable food and customer service through:

  • Ensuring all menu items are prepared to the highest culinary standards
  • Supervising culinary and catering teams to maintain excellence in food quality and service
  • Overseeing total operational efficiency, including:
    • Managing inventories
    • Monitoring budgets
    • Implementing action plans for continuous improvement
  • Regular KPI monitoring with the line manager to ensure targets are met
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I whilst upholding a positive brand image
  • Liaising between customers and teams to exceed expectations
  • Developing and implementing Health & Safety standards
  • Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales
  • Training, supporting, and leading teams to achieve best-in-class performance

Requirements & Skills

We’re looking for an ambitious, motivated individual with:

  • Minimum two years of catering experience
  • Strong team management expertise in a similar role
  • NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Proven financial acumen
  • Outstanding communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
