Salary: £35,500 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen team at Sevenoaks Preparatory School. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring fresh, high-quality meals for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead kitchen operations, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation
- Manage and support a small kitchen team, fostering a positive working environment
- Oversee menu planning, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Maintain accurate financial records, including budgets, ordering, and stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding policies
- Collaborate with school staff to deliver a seamless catering experience
- Champion allergen controls within the kitchen
Qualifications
Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience as a Chef Manager or similar role, preferably in contract catering (Independent Education sector)
- Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
- Passion for seasonal, fresh ingredients to create nutritious and appealing menus
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and risk management skills
- Familiarity with food safety, allergen awareness, and sustainability principles
