Job Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch service for a high-volume workforce.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality meals within agreed specifications.
  • Maintain portion control and presentation standards.
  • Support menu development, focusing on nutrition, value, and efficiency.
  • Assist with grab-and-go and packed lunch production as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain strict adherence to HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Follow all site-specific health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Complete temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure allergen procedures are fully implemented and controlled.

Operational Support

  • Support stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise waste.
  • Assist with deliveries and stock management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas.
  • Contribute to cost control targets and labour efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in high-volume or contract catering.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and allergen management.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a structured, fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong team ethic.

Desirable

  • Experience in construction, industrial, or large-scale workforce catering.
  • Experience delivering 500+ covers daily.
  • Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
