Location: Officers’ Mess/Sergeants’ Mess, Somme Barracks, DL9 4LD Pay: £13.83 per hour (£28,864.87 per annum) Hours: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (includes some weekends) Shift times: Earlies/Lates - alternate weeks. Earlies 06:45 – 13:15, Lates 14:30 – 21:00 with occasional absence cover and functions
Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Chef Supervisor to join our team working at Somme Barracks.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting and leading kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth function of the unit.
To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements: you must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to work and must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

What you’ll do:
Working with a team of chefs and kitchen assistants, delivering around 1000 meals, 3 times a day. You will be supervising in the kitchen unit. You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre-ordered menu. Ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy, and all stock checks are conducted correctly. Completing all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms. Handle customer complaints in a professional manner. Undertake relevant training as required.
What we’re looking for:
Must have resided in the UK for the past 3 years and have legal right to work. Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks. Previous supervisory experience. Applicants must have one of the following qualifications or equivalent: BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3 Knowledge of health and safety CIEH level 2 qualification or equivalent
