Salary: £15.28 per hour

Summary of the Role

We are seeking a ‘first-class’ Chef for a full-time position, including weekends. The successful applicant must have culinary and managerial experience.

You will oversee:

  • Kitchen operations
  • Food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
  • Employee supervision
  • Budget management and menu planning

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals/snacks fitting residents’ preferences and dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, texture-modified, vegetarian foods)
  • Stock management and ordering supplies
  • Menu planning
  • Comply with food safety/policy/health & safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and equipment in working order
  • Support special events by working with the Activities Team
  • Schedule rotas and conduct supervisory reviews

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a care setting
  • Qualifications in:
    • Catering (such as NVQ Level 2/3, apprenticeship, etc.)
    • Food safety/hygiene (e.g., Certificate in Food Safety Level 2)

Desirable Traits

Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. Exemplary judgment, problem-solving, and time management.
