Head Chef
HC-One
At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated Chef who can bring their skills and passion for food into our care home kitchen. You’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals, meeting nutritional needs while bringing comfort and enjoyment to our Residents every day. Incentive value: £1,000 welcome bonus.
About You
Requirements & Qualifications
You will be an experienced cook with:
- A recognised qualification, including an S/NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery or equivalent
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- A sound understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) to maintain high standards of food safety

- Expertise in nutritious meal planning and appetising dish presentation
- Commitment to food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
Soft Skills
- Creativity in menu planning that aligns with residential care requirements
- Passion for serving meals with both nutrition and well-being in mind
- Teamwork and a positive working attitude
- Caring approach that reinforces HC-One’s values of kindness and dignity
Critical Responsibility
- Safeguarding awareness & compliance: Ability to recognise signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, understand escalation procedures, and report concerns. Mandatory safeguarding training will be required.
