Clumber House Care Home – Harbour Healthcare 📍81 Dickens Lane, Poynton, Stockport, Cheshire, SK12 1NT 💰£16.50/hour | 🕒38/week

About the Role

Located in the picturesque village of Poynton, Clumber House Care Home is a loving home for 41 residents, including those requiring round-the-clock nursing care. We are seeking a ‘first-class’ Chef with culinary and management experience to join our team full-time (including weekends). The role involves kitchen oversight, quality assurance, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and care standards.


Key Responsibilities

(Note: This is not an exhaustive list)

  • Manage and oversee the daily preparation, cooking, and serving of meals and snacks, tailored to residents' needs (e.g., texture-modified food, diabetes-friendly options, vegetarian choices).
  • Stock and supply management, including inventory ordering and budget oversight.
  • Menu planning aligned with dietary requirements and seasonal availability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety checks, records, and company policies/procedures.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards, including workplace cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Team to cater for special events and occasions.
  • Rota management for kitchen staff and ensure staff supervisions are completed on time.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in a care setting (nursing or catering).
  • Qualifications in catering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Food safety/hygiene certification (e.g., Level 2).
