Job Description

This is a full time, permanent position, working a flexible 36.5 hour week, Monday – Friday.
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and innovative Analytical Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity based at our client’s facility, a world class Pharmaceutical company based in Macclesfield. We have an opportunity for experienced Analytical Scientists with experience of drug substance development in the pharmaceutical industry.
Job Responsibilities
- You will develop, optimise and validate advanced trace analysis methods using LC-MS and Orbitrap technologies to detect and quantify trace-level small molecules in raw materials, intermediates and drug substances.
- You will provide technical expertise to Eurofins project teams, supporting the assessment of mutagenic impurities, nitrosamines and other trace analytes at parts-per-billion levels.
- You will perform complex analytical investigations, interpret scientific data and apply innovative problem-solving skills to deliver accurate, high-quality results for clients.
- You will support and enhance Eurofins' trace analysis capabilities by sharing specialist knowledge, advising stakeholders and contributing to the successful delivery of analytical programmes.
- You will author and review key analytical documentation, including analytical testing plans, method development reports and validation protocols, depending on your level of experience.
- You will collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary internal and external teams, communicating scientific concepts clearly while contributing to a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications
What skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as an Chemical Development Trace Analysis Scientist:
- You will hold a degree or higher qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, supported by a strong foundation in organic chemistry and analytical science.
- You will have pharmaceutical analytical experience within a development laboratory environment, with knowledge of drug development processes and the analysis of raw materials, intermediates and drug substances.
- You will have hands-on experience developing and applying advanced analytical techniques, including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-HRMS and LC-HRMS, with experience of NMR, IC or ICP-MS considered advantageous.
- You will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate analytical and instrumentation issues, quickly learn new processes and develop effective technical solutions.
- You will have a good understanding of GMP requirements and experience working with electronic systems and Microsoft Office, alongside excellent documentation, organisational and data management skills.
- You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, customer service and continuous improvement within Eurofins.
