Position Overview
The ODM (other direct materials), Washing & Varnishing Process Engineer will support the PHC (personal and home care) Operations Department to assimilate the expertise and capabilities from all our facilities to define, implement and standardize optimum process, material and tooling solutions to meet our targets in performance and earnings (EHS, Quality, Innovation, KPI's) within ODM, Internal Lacquers and the Chemical Washing and Post washing areas.
This position can be based out of any EMEA PHC plant. Candidates from the EU will be given salary information prior to the interview.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage Process Projects in terms of coordination, testing, expertise & support for all PHC locations in ODM, Internal Lacquers, Pre and Post Washer.
- Work with Technical Specialists at all PHC plants in order to implement process improvements and standardization.
- Identify Technical needs for production process improvement, prepare related studies and proposals for necessary improvements / innovations, and coordination of the project implementation among all the Ball PHC plants.
- Support all PHC plants in the group in terms of Best Practices application, standardization (including drawings), sharing of the Experiences to help the plants to achieve related Annual Operation Plans.
- Technical support of the Global PHC Process Manager in PHC development projects: new initiatives, source of new ideas for saving action plan proposal, best practices sharing, new Raw Materials testing and Technology Surveillance.
- Monitor, track and follow-up Raw Materials consumption among all PHC Plants mainly Detergents, Internal Lacquers and Coatings.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities within ODM, Internal Lacquers and detergents. Implement cost savings identified in alignment with Global PHC Process Manager.
- Liaise with wider Ball and Industry Process Experts as required.
- Participate in updating and sharing all Process Troubleshooting Guides.
- Participate in developing Training Media along with Site Technical Trainers and share with other PHC plants.
- Use Continuous Improvement (CI) methodology to define, measure, analyse, improve and put under control processes and acquire a problem solving mindset.

What are we looking for?
- High School Diploma or education equivalent in Materials or Process Engineering.
- Min 5 years experience in materials control in manufacturing facility.
- Language - English (Essential), Czech, French, Spanish (Desirable).
- Demonstrated skills in:
- Materials management within Coatings discipline.
- Minitab.
- Project Management.
- Leadership within a wider organization.
- Working knowledge of:
- MS Office products.
- Technical Software.
- CAD skills using Autocad / Draftsight / Solidworks.
