PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To operate all production plants and equipment in a safe, environmentally compliant and effective manner, as part of a team to meet production schedules and targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow defined process instructions and quality procedures for the manufacture of our chemical products.
- Receiving/unloading of bulk raw materials, loading/dispatch of bulk product and packing out and labelling of product as required.
- Carry out QC laboratory testing.
- To prepare the plant for maintenance work.
- Ensure that complete and accurate handover occurs between shifts.
- To take prompt and appropriate action in the event of an emergency.
- Take an active part in accident/incident investigations.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping of the plant and adjacent areas.
- Maintain good, accurate process records on time and in full.
- Conduct safety, environmental, production and housekeeping checks and audits.
- Submit maintenance requisitions and incident reports where necessary.
- Communicate effectively with line management, other departments and contractors to ensure the safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of the plant.
- Use of an ERP system to ensure timely booking of batches and to monitor raw material, finished product and order status.
- Use of Fork Lift Truck as required to meet the demands of the job.
- To assist Maintenance or Logistics team members as instructed by Team Leader/Line Management.
- To provide training of other team members as required.
- Identify potential problems and take appropriate action in coordination with Senior Operator and Shift Team Leader.

- We are looking for candidates experience of working in large volume manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of chemicals and equipment is essential.
- Knowledge of surfactant chemicals is advantageous.
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
- Counter balance FLT licence.
WORKING HOURS:
4 days on, 4 days off, Monday to Sunday, with the 4 working days consisting of 2 Day shifts (6am-6pm) and 2 Night shifts (6pm-6am).
