PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To operate all production plants and equipment in a safe, environmentally compliant and effective manner, as part of a team to meet production schedules and targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow defined process instructions and quality procedures for the manufacture of our chemical products.
  • Receiving/unloading of bulk raw materials, loading/dispatch of bulk product and packing out and labelling of product as required.
  • Carry out QC laboratory testing.
  • To prepare the plant for maintenance work.
  • Ensure that complete and accurate handover occurs between shifts.
  • To take prompt and appropriate action in the event of an emergency.
  • Take an active part in accident/incident investigations.
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping of the plant and adjacent areas.
  • Maintain good, accurate process records on time and in full.
  • Conduct safety, environmental, production and housekeeping checks and audits.
  • Submit maintenance requisitions and incident reports where necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with line management, other departments and contractors to ensure the safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Use of an ERP system to ensure timely booking of batches and to monitor raw material, finished product and order status.
  • Use of Fork Lift Truck as required to meet the demands of the job.
  • To assist Maintenance or Logistics team members as instructed by Team Leader/Line Management.
  • To provide training of other team members as required.
  • Identify potential problems and take appropriate action in coordination with Senior Operator and Shift Team Leader.

  • We are looking for candidates experience of working in large volume manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of chemicals and equipment is essential.
  • Knowledge of surfactant chemicals is advantageous.
  • The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
  • Counter balance FLT licence.

WORKING HOURS:

4 days on, 4 days off, Monday to Sunday, with the 4 working days consisting of 2 Day shifts (6am-6pm) and 2 Night shifts (6pm-6am).
