Position: Chemistry Expert – STEM Training Data Designer
Location: Remote Type: Contract / Part-time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week Compensation: Up to 40 USD/hr Project duration: 2 months, with potential extension
About the Role
We specialise in creating high-quality STEM training data for cutting-edge AI models used in training and evaluation workflows at top-tier AI laboratories.
We’re seeking experts in Chemistry to design advanced, deterministic problems with:
- Exactly one verifiable correct answer – ensuring precision in AI evaluation.
- Deep reasoning, domain knowledge, and computational rigor – pushing the limits of AI systems.
- Variety in tasks, including:
- Computational chemistry
- Physical chemistry
- Analytical chemistry
- Chemical engineering-adjacent workflows
- Specialised software tool-dependent chemistry problems

What You’ll Do
- Design challenging chemistry problems that accurately reflect real-world scientific workflows.
- Develop deterministic tasks with a single correct answer and fully verified solutions.
- Create reasoning-heavy, computationally grounded problems that align with modern research needs.
- Utilise Python and relevant chemistry-specific tools (e.g., simulation packages).
- Ensure full reproducibility, technical precision, and clear documentation.
- Write rigorous, English-language technical explanations concisely.
Requirements
Essential
- Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
- Research or industry experience with computational or quantitative chemistry workflows.
- Proficient in Python, including familiarity with scientific computing libraries.
- Deep understanding of chemical modeling, numerical methods, and computational reasoning.
- Ability to design original, complex problems that transcend traditional textbook questions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and clarity in technical writing.
