Chemistry Lecturer

Chemistry Lecturer – Part-Time, Fixed-Term Role (0.4 FTE, 2 Days/Week, Ending 9th July 2027)


About the Role

Leading your passion for Chemistry into shaping the next generation of skilled professionals at Capital City College, London—Join our dynamic team as a Chemistry Lecturer responsible for delivering high-quality BTEC (Pearson) teaching, curriculum development, and learner support.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE, 2 days/week) fixed-term position with a vibrant further education college dedicated to career progression, diversity, and excellence in teaching.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality BTEC Chemistry lessons (Levels 1–3) in schools across London.
  • Design and guide curriculum development, ensuring alignment with Pearson BTEC standards.
  • Foster inclusive and learner-focused teaching, empowering students in their academic and career journeys.
  • Support students pastorially while cultivating a collaborative and innovative teaching culture across the team.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the college’s vision for chemical education.

Requirements

  • A passion for ** Chemistry** and vocational education, with experience teaching similar subjects.
  • Proven expertise in BTEC Chemistry (Levels 1–3) and knowledge of Pearson frameworks.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage diverse classrooms effectively.
  • A qualified teaching status (e.g., QTS, TXE, or school-based certification) or a strong commitment to gaining one.
  • A drive to inspire and push learners toward their full potential—empowering success in STEM careers.
