About the Role
Are you passionate about empowering the next generation and shaping the future of education and Chemistry in London? Capital City College is seeking a motivated and skilled Lecturer to join our dynamic London-based team, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire students in A Level Chemistry (AQA syllabus).
This is a permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE) role. As a Lecturer in Chemistry, you will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and support students to achieve their academic and career goals.
- Contribute to curriculum development in line with the AQA A Level Chemistry framework.
- Provide pastoral support, ensuring students thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assess A Level Chemistry using the AQA curriculum, ensuring outstanding engagement and outcomes.
- Align your teaching with college standards while fostering a learner-centric, inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with the department to develop and review lesson plans, innovative teaching strategies, and assessment frameworks.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to ensure student success.
- Support career progression by identifying opportunities for students (e.g., further education, apprenticeships, or industry placements).
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to departmental reporting.
- Actively participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and mentorship initiatives.

About the Team

About You
We’re looking for a dedicated educator with:
- Proven experience teaching A Level Chemistry (AQA or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of the AQA Chemistry syllabus and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to inclusive, learner-focused teaching.
- A qualified teaching status (or willingness to gain Qualified TeacherLearning (QTL) or equivalent).
- Passion for inspiring diverse learners and helping them reach their potential.
- Specialist expertise and enthusiasm for science education.
