Are you a highly motivated, forward-thinking, registered nurse with an interest in developing your career within oncology/haematology chemotherapy?

We are looking for a Band 5 nurse, with experience in IV therapy and cannulation who is interested in working with chemotherapy/SACT patients within our busy nurse-led Macmillan chemotherapy day unit.

You will be supported in developing your skills, and knowledge within this specialist field alongside completing the SACT university module and the SACT Passport.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility.
  • To work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.
  • Support patients and carers in their information needs.
  • To participate in all relevant aspects of the Governance process.
  • The post holder will adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct at all times and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • To safely administer chemotherapy in keeping with local and national policy.
  • To act as a positive role model at all times.
