Spot a Group: Co-Founder Opportunity

Spot a Group is a global marketplace where licensed psychologists and coaches host live group sessions: online or in person, anywhere in the world, in any language, on any topic.

www.spotagroup.com

Individual therapy is expensive, waiting lists are long, and thousands of valuable group sessions remain scattered across clinics, private websites, and communities. We want to change that.

Our Progress

  • 750+ named leads from mental health webinars
  • First webinar organized, with 300+ attendees
  • 30+ therapists interviewed and interested
  • Clear market gap: no dominant marketplace for group therapy

We are looking for a Charismatic, Commercially Driven Co-Founder

Exceptional at:

  • Opening doors.
  • Building trust quickly.
  • Selling a vision before everything is fully built.
  • Turning interested professionals into committed partners.
  • Convincing communities and organisations to promote Spot a Group.
  • Getting people to attend and pay for the first sessions.
  • Following up persistently and closing deals.

The Role

We have a team of two talented senior software engineers and a doctor in psychology building the best marketplace, and we need the best salesperson to attract both our first psychologists/coaches and, above all, our first paying users.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do

  • Convince recognised professionals with established audiences to launch groups on Spot a Group.
  • Acquire our first paying users and fill our first group sessions.
  • Convince partners to give us access to their audiences.
  • Attend events, make calls, send outreach, run meetings, follow up, negotiate, and close.
  • Speak with users and professionals and turn those insights into product decisions.
  • Build the first sales, partnerships, and growth processes that can later become a team.
  • Represent Spot a Group in conversations with professionals, communities, partners, and investors.

Who We Are Looking For

We care far more about what you have achieved than your job titles or years of experience.

  • You are naturally persuasive, charismatic, and comfortable approaching people.
  • You have sold something difficult, especially when the product, market, or brand was still new.
  • You are energised by calls, meetings, events, negotiations, and closing.
  • You follow up relentlessly without damaging trust.
  • You are comfortable hearing “no” repeatedly.
  • You can sell a vision before there is a polished product or established brand.
  • You have built partnerships, opened markets, recruited high-value clients, or generated revenue from zero.
  • You want personal responsibility for commercial results.
  • You want to build a company, not manage a marketing calendar.

Experience in mental health is not required. Treating the space with empathy, integrity, and responsibility is. We want someone commercially formidable who also understands that, in mental health, trust is not a sales tactic, it is part of the product.

What We Offer

  • A true co-founder position with meaningful equity, vesting, and a cliff.
  • An initial part-time commitment while the MVP is being built.
  • A transition to full-time after launch and financing.
  • Flexible remote-first setup
  • A transparent salary and equity structure based on your experience, commitment, and joining stage.
  • Work on a large, underserved market with early validation
  • Flexible working arrangements in an international environment.
  • You to decide on the best strategies to help Spot a Group grow

If you’ve been searching for a place where your work is truly valued and you still haven’t found your dream role, joining us now could be exactly the opportunity you’ve been looking for!
