Chief Engineer
At ZeroAvia, we're accelerating the transition to zero-emission aviation through the development of hydrogen-electric propulsion. We are thrilled to share an opportunity to join our team as Chief Engineer to lead us through a pivotal stage in the development of our fuel cell system. We are looking for exceptional technical leadership to drive product maturity, manage complex engineering challenges and ensure successful execution against critical programme milestones.
Based at our UK headquarters at Cotswold Airport (Kemble), the Chief Engineer will lead the development, testing and certification of a stand-alone, multi-platform fuel cell system for aerospace applications. This role is accountable for maintaining technical integrity, providing strategic engineering leadership and ensuring delivery in accordance with ZeroAvia's Design Organisation requirements.

- Keep the senior managers informed about progress and issues related to their projects, ensuring project teams use best practices and providing guidance and mentoring when needed.
- Identify and highlight any risks that could impact successful project delivery, maintain records of project progress, and ensure forward visibility of deliverables and key milestones.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
