Chief Engineer - ERRV/MRV
Chief Engineer – ERRV/MRV Fleet (Per permanent position)
⚠️ Critical – Apply by 03/07/2026 Rotation: 4 weeks on / off
Relevant candidates must have:
- Previous experience as a Chief Engineer
- UK Certificate of Competency (CoC) or UK Fitness Standard Exemption (FSE)
Alternative considered: Non-UK candidates willing to apply for the UK equivalent certification.
About the Role
A permanent position within the Company’s ERRV/MRV (Emergency Response & Mobile Response Vessel) fleet. Responsible for ensuring optimal operations of technical systems onboard.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical oversight: Maintain the vessel’s machinery and propulsion systems, ensuring all equipment functions correctly.
- Regulatory compliance: Adhere to rules from:
- Flag authorities (vessel registry)
- Classification Societies
- IMO (International Maritime Organisation)
- Port Authorities
- Ship owner’s management protocols
- Operational maintenance: Safely, efficiently and cost-effectively manage:
- Machinery, systems and specialist onboard equipment
- Vessel structural integrity
- Safety & watch maintenance:
- Ensure all engine room teams uphold effective, round-the-clock watch systems
- Defect reporting:
- Log issues via the company-approved planned maintenance system (PMS)
- Ensure defects remain current and accurately documented
- Procurement & logistics:
- Requisition stores, spares and equipment for the Engine Department
- Team delegation:
- Assign tasks to Engine Room staff as necessary
- Policy adherence:
- Promote and uphold the company’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Policy
- Interdepartmental communication:
- Facilitate effective communication across all onboard teams
