Chief Engineer - ERRV/MRV
Chief Engineer (ERRV/MRV Fleet) – Permanent Position
Location: ERRV/MRV fleet Start Date: 03/07/2026 Contract: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation
The Company has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Engineer to join its ERRV/MRV fleet. The ideal candidate must have prior experience as a Chief Engineer and hold (or be eligible to obtain) a UK Class of Investment / UK Function Showing Examination (UK FSE) certificate. Non-UK candidates with the willingness to apply for the UK equivalent are also encouraged to apply.
Role Responsibilities
The Chief Engineer is responsible for:
- Overseeing the technical status of the ship, machinery, and propulsion systems, ensuring all onboard equipment remains in working order.
- Ensuring compliance with flag state, Classification Society, IMO (International Maritime Organization), port authority, and owner’s management regulations.
- Safely, efficiently, and economically operating and maintaining:
- Onboard machinery and systems
- Specialist equipment permanently installed on board
- The fabric of the vessel
- Maintaining an effective and efficient watch in the engine room at all times.
- Reporting and documenting defects via the company’s approved planned maintenance system and keeping records updated.
- Requisitioning stores, spares, and equipment for the Engine Department.
- Delegating tasks to the Engine Room staff.
- Actively promoting and upholding the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
- Encouraging inter-departmental communications for seamless operation.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chief Engineer in a maritime environment.
- Hold or be eligible for a UK Class of Investment / UK FSE (or equivalent certification available for non-UK candidates).
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, safety protocols, and technical maintenance.
- Ability to lead a team and ensure high standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance.
