About the Role We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our PEMD team and Winding Centre of Excellence, driving innovation in the design, manufacture, and testing of advanced electrical machines. You will provide strategic and technical leadership, develop staff and facilities, and build strong partnerships across industry, academia, and internal stakeholders. The role includes securing and delivering collaborative research programmes, managing project portfolios, and ensuring high-quality technical outputs. You will oversee the development and application of engineering tools and methods, while acting as the senior responsible person for PEMD facilities, health and safety, and environmental compliance.

About You You are a recognised expert in electrical machine design, manufacturing, and testing, with experience leading technical teams and complex research or development programmes. You have a proven ability to build partnerships, secure funding, and deliver impactful projects. With strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, you can guide teams, promote engineering excellence, and drive innovation in a collaborative environment.
