Chief Executive Officer, FOSFA International
London-based with international reach | Attractive Salary & Package
FOSFA International is a global membership organisation at the heart of the oils, fats and oilseeds trade. Established in London, it provides the contracts, standards, arbitration and technical services that underpin a substantial proportion of international trade in these commodities.
This is a distinctive Chief Executive appointment. FOSFA is member-owned and Council-led, with a small, committed staff team and members in more than 90 countries. Its influence rests on the quality, independence and credibility of its work, and the trust it has built across a complex global market.
The next Chief Executive will provide visible, confident and thoughtful leadership. Working closely with the President, Council, committees, members and staff, they will ensure FOSFA continues to deliver for its members while strengthening its profile, engagement and strategic direction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are looking for a leader with the judgement and presence to operate across a diverse stakeholder base. Candidates may come from a membership body, trade association, professional or regulatory environment, commodities, arbitration, standards, international trade, legal services or another relevant sector. What matters most is the ability to lead with diplomacy, commercial awareness, governance confidence and a clear understanding of member value.
The successful candidate will bring experience of organisational leadership, external representation and stakeholder engagement. They will be comfortable working with elected governance structures, supporting effective decision-making and building consensus where interests may be varied or complex.
The role will suit someone who is comfortable leading in a specialist environment, where authority is earned through judgement, stewardship and the ability to bring people with different perspectives with them. The Chief Executive will need to be visible in London, close to the staff team and governance structure, while ensuring FOSFA continues to look outward and engage confidently with the markets it serves.
