Chief Executive Officer – British Brands Group

Lead the UK's foremost voice for brand manufacturers, shaping policy, influencing key stakeholders, and driving the future success of a highly respected membership organisation.

The Opportunity

The British Brands Group (BBG) is the leading voice for brand manufacturers operating in the UK, representing many of the world's most recognisable consumer brands.

We are seeking an outstanding Chief Executive Officer to:

  • Lead the association
  • Drive member engagement
  • Shape policy and advocacy activity
  • Ensure BBG continues to deliver exceptional value for its members

This is a unique opportunity to lead a highly respected membership organisation, working with:

  • Senior business leaders
  • Policymakers
  • Regulators
  • Industry stakeholders

  • Lead the overall management and strategic development of BBG, ensuring the organisation operates effectively and delivers against its objectives
  • Act as Company Secretary, supporting the Chair and Council and ensuring strong governance and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Members
    • Government
    • Regulators
    • Trade associations
    • Other key stakeholders
  • Lead the development and delivery of BBG’s policy, public affairs, and advocacy agenda
  • Oversee the delivery of:
    • Member engagement activities (working groups, events, seminars, training programmes)
  • Manage the organisation’s:
    • Finances
    • External suppliers
    • Day-to-day operations

...ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.


Key Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in:
    • A trade association, membership body, public affairs consultancy, or similarly stakeholder-led environment
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently in a lean organisation
  • Strong understanding of:
    • UK public policy
    • Regulation and advocacy
  • Experience supporting:
    • Boards
    • Councils
    • Governance structures
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills
  • Strong commercial, operational, and financial management capability
  • The credibility and judgement to engage effectively with:
    • Senior executives
    • Government officials
    • Regulators
    • Policymakers
