What You'll Do:

  • Set the strategic direction: Lead Outvertising through its next stage of growth, strengthening our organisational foundations, broadening our influence across the industry, and ensuring we continue to be the leading voice for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in advertising and marketing.
  • Lead the team: Build, maintain and motivate a focused, high-performing team of volunteers.
  • Build trust and credibility: Build alliances across the advertising and marketing industry, and with other like-minded organisations, to establish Outvertising as a trusted advisor and convenor.
  • Be Outvertising’s public voice: Lead the organisation's key messaging, point of view and industry share of voice.
  • Crisis and reputation management: Externally and internally.
  • Collaboration: With Management Board on workstream projects; with Non Exec Board on governance and policy.
  • Relationships: Build alliances across the advertising and marketing industry with other like-minded groups and queer-sector organisations.
  • General: Attend monthly Management Board meetings; attend 3 Non Exec Board meetings annually; commit to two-year tenure with optional one year extension; are able to begin your tenure in September 2026.

Who You Are:

  • You’re a senior professional currently working or recently worked in the marketing, advertising and/or media industries, and understand the opportunities and challenges facing our sector.
  • You have proven strategic and people leadership experience with a strong desire to develop further.
  • You’re a confident and experienced speaker/presenter.
  • You’re a seasoned networker and relationship builder with established ties across the industry and beyond.
  • You're a passionate advocate for all things LGBTQIA+ inclusion and want to do more to support the community.
  • You’ll likely have other volunteer/non-profit experience.
  • You can commit to 1 day a week/40 hours a month, which you’re able to work around your professional and personal commitments.

Outvertising is the UK's leading LGBTQIA+ advocacy and inclusion group, shaking up the advertising and marketing industry to embrace diversity and inclusion at its core. Our mission is to drive LGBTQIA+ representation and inclusion in UK advertising and marketing. We do that by encouraging brands and their creative and media partners to be fully LGBTQIA+ inclusive in their workplaces and in their communications.
