Chief Executive, Rambert
About Rambert
Rambert, the UK’s original dance company, founded in 1926, is recruiting for a new Chief Executive. Internationally recognised for its ambitious contemporary dance, the organisation commissions leading choreographers, nurtures artistic talent, and engages audiences through performance, participation, digital content, and dance education. Based on London’s South Bank, Rambert blends artistic excellence with a diverse income model, including public investment, commercial activity, and philanthropy.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Board and collaborating closely with the Artistic Director, the Chief Executive will provide strategic, financial, and organisational leadership for Rambert.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Rambert’s long-term vision, ensuring the organisation remains:
- Artistically ambitious
- Financially sustainable
- Well-positioned for growth in both national and international arenas
- Lead strategic planning, financial management, and the steering of high-performing teams
- Cultivate productive relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including partners from the arts, culture, and creative industries

Requirements
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Significant senior leadership experience within a complex, mission-driven organisation
- A strong track record in:
- Strategic planning
- Financial oversight
- Leading high-performing teams
- Preference for experience within or alongside the arts, culture or creative sectors
- Ability to foster collaborative partnerships and stakeholder engagement
