Bolton NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking an outstanding and visionary Chief Finance Officer to join our Executive Team. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organisation while supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About the Role

As a Board-level Director, you will:

  • Deliver financial balance, drive efficiency, and support transformation across the Trust and wider Integrated Care Services.
  • Provide visionary financial leadership, collaborating with divisional leaders, clinicians, and external partners to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Shape the development and delivery of the Trust’s financial strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Support the Trust’s transformation into a more responsive, preventative, and patient-centred service, in line with the 10 Year Health Plan for England.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Build trusted relationships and influence across organisational boundaries.

  • Commit to the NHS values, focusing on improving health outcomes and addressing health inequalities.
  • Drive compliance with financial regulations and financial governance frameworks.
  • Play a central role in strate****gic decision-making for fiscal health and operational sustainability.

Requirements & Attributes

You must demonstrate: ✔ A strong track record in senior financial leadership within a health/organisational context. ✔ Deep commitment to NHS values, with a focus on reducing inequalities and improving care. ✔ The ability to collaborate at Board-level while fostering partnership across clinical and financial disciplines. ✔ Drive towards efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth within complex systems.
