Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Own Retail UK — Based in Liverpool & surrounding area
Daimler Truck AG | Full-time | Permanent
This is more than a finance role — it's a chance to help shape the future of Daimler Truck's Own Retail business in the UK from the ground up. We are in an exciting growth phase, actively investing in our dealer network and expanding our footprint. If you want to make a real impact in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment backed by a global leader, this is your opportunity.
Join Us at a Defining Moment
Daimler Truck Own Retail UK is growing — and growing fast. We have recently expanded our network through the acquisition of a dealership group comprising six locations across Liverpool and the surrounding region, and our ambitions do not stop there. Further site acquisitions and team growth are firmly on the horizon as we work towards our long-term Own Retail targets.
As a newly integrated part of the Daimler Truck family, this business is in a dynamic transformation phase — which means the decisions taken now will define the organisation for years to come. You will be joining at exactly the right moment: early enough to leave your mark, and with the full backing of one of the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers behind you.
The Role
As CFO of Own Retail UK, you will hold full executive responsibility for the Finance and IT functions of our UK entity. Working closely with the Board, Group leadership and investors, you will be a true strategic partner — driving performance, enabling growth and ensuring the organisation is built on solid financial foundations. This is a hands-on leadership role with real strategic weight.
Strategy & Growth
- Partner with the Board and investors to shape and execute the strategic roadmap for Own Retail UK.
- Drive the growth of the UK group through site and corporate acquisitions — a key lever in our expansion story.
- Deliver robust business modelling, investment appraisals and scenario analyses to power confident strategic decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
