Chief Information Officer
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides senior leadership for the delivery, performance and operational resilience of all digital, technology and information services across the Trust. Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital and Transformation, the CIO is responsible for translating strategic digital priorities into robust delivery plans and ensuring the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of the Trust’s digital estate.
The CIO leads the full spectrum of digital operations, including infrastructure, cyber security, clinical and corporate systems, data platforms, service management and digital continuity. The postholder ensures that all digital services are modern, secure, responsive and aligned to the needs of clinical services, operational teams and the wider organisation.
- Oversees a function of c.100 staff and a combined capital and revenue budget of approximately £16m.
- Builds strong relationships across the Trust and the local health and care system to ensure that digital services, data and technology are integrated with clinical pathways, transformation programmes, financial sustainability plans and ICS-wide digital priorities.
- Delivers measurable improvements in patient care, colleague experience and organisational productivity through high-quality digital services.
- Ensures compliance with all statutory, regulatory and information governance requirements.
- Provides senior assurance to the Executive Team and Board.
- Drives operational excellence, risk management and continuous improvement across the Trust’s digital capability.
