Role Description
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at BABUSPACE Ltd is a full-time, hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The CMO will lead the overall marketing strategy for BabuSpace, defining brand positioning, growth plans, and go-to-market initiatives across African and global audiences. - Overseeing market planning and research
- Directing digital and offline campaigns
- Building strong public relations and communication programs
- Collaborating with product and operations teams to align marketing with business objectives
- Managing the marketing budget
- Leading and mentoring a cross-functional marketing team

The role will also involve representing BabuSpace in key external partnerships, industry events, and media engagements to strengthen the company’s presence in the travel and hospitality sector.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in market planning and marketing management, including development and execution of multi-channel marketing strategies.
- UNDERSTAND AFRICA FIRST
- Strong skills in market research and data-driven analysis to identify customer needs, trends, and growth opportunities.
- Experience in public relations, brand communications, and reputation management across diverse markets.
- Background in marketing leadership supporting sales teams and revenue growth, with familiarity in sales processes and enablement.
- Demonstrated success in senior marketing roles within marketplaces, travel, hospitality, or consumer technology sectors.
- Ability to lead and develop diverse, distributed teams, with strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional African languages are an advantage.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with strategic thinking and hands-on execution capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is beneficial.
