Group Chief Marketing Officer | London (Hybrid) | £200k–£220k base + bonus
We're recruiting on behalf of a global, PE-backed group with a diverse, multi-brand portfolio spanning multiple international markets. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially driven marketing leader to take on a true group-level CMO mandate, shaping brand strategy, driving growth, and building a world-class marketing function at scale.
About the role
Reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer, you'll lead the group's global marketing and communications strategy across a wide portfolio of brands/business units. You'll blend strategic vision with hands-on operational excellence, driving brand consistency at group level while empowering local teams to adapt for their markets.
This appointment reflects the organisation's continued investment in marketing as a strategic driver of growth. You'll lead a large, global marketing and communications function, working closely with a Group Creative Director, business unit marketing leaders, and the executive team to deliver on growth, reputation, and revenue goals.
What you'll be doing
- Defining and delivering group-wide brand strategy, balancing global consistency with local market adaptation
- Owning and driving digital strategy end-to-end, from performance marketing and digital channels to marketing technology and data-driven optimisation, as a core growth engine, not just a support function
- Shaping marketing strategy across brand, digital, communications, and customer acquisition to drive measurable commercial growth
- Leading multi-jurisdictional communications and PR, including executive positioning and crisis communications
- Building strong relationships across the business to embed marketing into commercial and growth plans
- Leading, developing, and scaling a large global marketing team
- Owning budgets and ROI across all marketing and communications investment
- Acting as a strategic partner to the executive team on growth, market entry, and new launches

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
