About the Role

We are seeking a visionary, data-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to architect the global growth engine of our "Super App". As an executive leader, you will own full marketing P&L, transforming complex service offerings into a scalable, high-growth user journey.

Responsibilities include defining the brand narrative from the outset, driving mass adoption, and positioning the app as a household name across the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in scaling tech platforms, understanding multi-vertical retention psychology, and excelling at the intersection of creative strategy and rigorous analytics.


Key Responsibilities

🔍 Market Strategy & Product Positioning

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis of UK/European social media landscapes, competitive sets, and local user behaviors.
  • Define unique product positioning and core value propositions for diverse European demographics.
  • Partner directly with the CEO and Product Head to align on strategic roadmaps for cold-start launches, growth acceleration, and scaling phases.

🚀 Growth Engineering & User Acquisition

  • Design and implement a comprehensive user growth framework from the ground up.
  • Develop robust seed user acquisition strategies and viral referral loops.
  • Implement data-driven retention, engagement, and win-back campaigns.
  • Run systematic growth experiments to optimise performance across the full user acquisition & retention funnel.
  • Own core performance metrics, including:
    • DAU/MAU (Daily/Monthly Active Users)
    • Retention rates
    • Viral coefficients
    • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
    • Lifetime Value (LTV)

🎨 Brand Identity & Communications

  • Build the brand from scratch, establishing:
    • Visual identity (logo, aesthetic)
    • Tone of voice & core narrative
    • High-level PR/media relations strategy
    • Content strategy (organic + paid)
    • Strategic brand partnerships
  • Execute phased communication plans designed to:
    • Transition from early trust-building to mass-market mindshare.
    • Amplify brand recognition through targeted campaigns.

🏢 Organisational Leadership

  • Recruit and lead a world-class international marketing team covering:
    • Growth marketing
    • Brand strategy
    • Content & creative
    • PR & public relations
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance-driven incentives to fuel high execution.
  • Foster a data-centric, high-execution culture.

🔄 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work in lockstep with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure market insights drive product development.
  • Serve as the "voice of the user"—translating market intelligence into actionable business decisions.

About You

📌 Essential

  • 10+ years in digital/mobile marketing, with a strong track record in growth-driven campaigns.
  • Proven experience in 0-to-1 scaleups or high-growth expansion into the UK, Europe, or North America.
  • Deep, systematic understanding of growth mechanics in social, IM, or community platforms.
  • Mature data skills, able to use metrics to drive strategic decisions.

🔥 Preferred

  • Prior experience with social, instant messaging (IM), or community-driven platforms.
  • Thrives in fast-paced startup or early-stage environments.
  • Skilled in leading cross-cultural, dispersed teams.
