Chief Markets Reporter

Chief Markets Reporter (Hybrid/Remote - Europe)

Type: Full-time

About Sandmark

Sandmark is an independent, privately owned media and data company focused on digital assets. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, our international team spans Europe, North America, and Asia. Our ambition is to become the most trusted source of crypto information, combining the highest standards of journalism with deep research insights and essential tools for investors and traders. Our established editorial platform went live in mid-2025, and we are currently exploring and building in other data-related areas to expand and enhance our product. We offer competitive employment opportunities as well as working with external contractors and vendors.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Markets Reporter who will report directly to senior editorial leadership. You will produce fresh, innovative content around cryptocurrency markets. Working alongside our analysts and editors, you will generate news articles in English about Bitcoin, altcoins, and other tokenized assets, focusing on explaining why assets are moving and breaking news that has market impact. You will sometimes deliver multiple articles per day, following and explaining major market movements. However, above all, you should aspire to break news, provide insight for market participants, and focus on quality and originality vs. volume.

You will blend short news briefs with occasional in-depth features that broaden readers’ understanding of the crypto universe and its global context.

Sandmark is an ideal platform for candidates aspiring to be among the most followed and respected crypto market reporters. You must possess a healthy skepticism of industry narratives and be comfortable applying a 'critical lens' to project founders, venture capital 'pump' cycles, and regulatory gatekeeping to fit with Sandmark's high standards.

The role requires autonomous source cultivation as well as covering certain industry events, political and regulatory factors that affect crypto markets, and insights from a macroeconomic lens when relevant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
