Job Description
As a Chief of Staff, we are looking for an exceptional, highly organised, and commercially astute Chief of Staff to support a Non-Executive Director who oversees multiple portfolios within a successful, family-owned business group.
This is a trusted partner role, acting as an extension of the NED, ensuring the effective management of priorities, governance activities, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives across a diverse portfolio of businesses. You will provide comprehensive Chief of Staff support, alongside executive-level diary and travel management, requiring discretion, sound judgement, and the ability to anticipate needs before they arise.
You will have strong financial acumen, experience operating in board-level environments, and the confidence to engage with senior leaders, advisers, and stakeholders.
As a Chief of Staff, we are looking for someone to:
Strategic & Chief of Staff Support
- Serve as a trusted adviser and strategic partner to the NED across multiple business interests and portfolios
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the NED
- Proactively manage priorities, ensuring the NED's time is focused on the highest-value activities
- Anticipate requirements, identify potential issues or opportunities, and take action before they become critical
- Support the NED in preparing for board meetings, investor discussions, business reviews, and strategic engagements
- Track actions, commitments, and key deliverables, ensuring timely follow-up and completion
- Coordinate projects and initiatives spanning multiple businesses and locations
- Prepare briefing documents, presentations, reports, and executive summaries for the NED
- Support with Family Office and matters where required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
