About the Role
The company is seeking a Chief Officer for its ERRV (Emergency Response Response Vessel) fleet.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Officer ensures deck operations and compliance, deputising for the Master where required. Key duties include:

Deputising the Master
- Acting as temporary vessel commander if the Master is unavailable.

Deck Department Leadership
- Overseeing the safe and efficient running of the Deck Department, (though delegation may be permitted on certain ship types).

Watch & Navigation
- Responsible for safe navigation during assigned working hours.

Crew Management
- Assigning duties and authorised tasks to supporting crew members.

Marine Safety & Equipment
- Maintaining all marine safety equipment.

Fire Safety Coordination
- Leading onboard firefighting response and directing all relevant internal firefighting activities.

Inspections & Incident Reporting
- Conducting routine vessel inspections as per the Safety Inspection Programme.
- Reporting any defects to the Chief Engineer.
- Investigating accidents, incidents or near misses.
- Preparing detailed reports to the Master for onward submission to the QHSE Department.

Safety Roles Beyond Regulation
- Acting as a Shipboard Safety Officer on ERRVs; depending on operations, other delegated officers may fulfil the role on other vessels.

Policy Implementation
- Actively promoting and advancing the company’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Policy.
- Ensuring string inter-departmental communication, maintaining professional collaboration.
