Role Summary

16VC is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the firm's operations, investment processes, founder programs, and ecosystem initiatives. The COO will work closely with the Founder & General Partner to build a scalable venture platform that supports founders, investors, and portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Firm Management

  • Lead day-to-day operations of 16VC.
  • Build and improve internal systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Manage legal, finance, compliance, and administrative operations.

Investment Operations

  • Coordinate deal flow, due diligence, and investment execution.
  • Manage SPV setup, documentation, and closing processes.
  • Maintain portfolio and investment reporting systems.

Founder & Portfolio Support

  • Oversee portfolio onboarding and founder engagement.
  • Manage founder support initiatives and strategic programs.
  • Coordinate resources across the 16VC ecosystem.

Fellowship & Studio

  • Lead the execution and growth of the 16VC Fellowship.
  • Manage Studio operations and startup support programs.
  • Build partnerships with founders, operators, mentors, and advisors.

Investor Relations

  • Support LP communications and reporting.
  • Coordinate investor updates, meetings, and documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships across the investor network.

Ecosystem Growth

  • Support events, community initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
  • Help position 16VC as a founder-first venture platform.
  • Drive operational excellence across all firm activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in venture capital, startups, private equity, consulting, or operations leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Understanding of startup ecosystems and venture investing.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

Compensation Structure

  • Founding leadership position.

Reports To: Founder & General Partner

Owns: Operations, Investment Operations, Fellowship, Studio, Investor Relations, Portfolio Support, and Ecosystem Development.
