Chief Pharmacy Technician
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Pharmacy Technician to lead and develop Aseptic Services at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the delivery, strategic development, and operational management of a large, cross-site Aseptic Service spanning Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital.
The service provides a wide range of high-quality aseptically prepared medicines, including chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, CIVAS, and clinical trial products. The department is entering an exciting period of expansion, including the introduction of innovative therapies such as in vivo gene therapy, and the post holder will play a key role in shaping and delivering this future vision.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a large multidisciplinary technical workforce, influence service transformation, and work at the forefront of aseptic and advanced therapy services within a leading NHS Trust.

- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of Aseptic Services across multiple sites.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, and compliant preparation of aseptic products including chemotherapy, PN, CIVAS, and clinical trials.
- Lead and manage technical staff, including workforce planning, performance management, training, and wellbeing.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards (e.g. GMP, GCP, QA requirements) and lead responses to audits and inspections.
- Drive service development and continuous improvement, including implementation of new technologies and advanced therapies.
- Oversee quality systems, including change control, deviations, and corrective actions, working closely with Quality Assurance teams.
- Contribute to capital projects, including design, commissioning, and validation of aseptic facilities and equipment.
- Support research and clinical trials activity within aseptic services.
- Contribute to financial planning, business cases, and efficient use of resources

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
