We are seeking an experienced and professional Chief Pilot / Flight Operations Manager to lead flight operations within a UK AOC helicopter company based at Biggin Hill Airport.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for flying standards, crew management, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across a multi-type operation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, the UK CAA, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of operations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise flight crew, standards, and day-to-day flying operations
- Ensure operations are conducted safely and in compliance with UK CAA requirements, company procedures, and the Operations Manual
- Promote a strong safety culture and high professional standards across the operation
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, supporting a safe, professional, and responsive service
- Ensuring customer requirements are understood and translated into safe, effective operational delivery
- Oversee pilot recruitment, induction, development, standardisation, and operational readiness
- Work closely with training, safety, and compliance functions to maintain standards and continuous improvement
- Act as a key point of contact with the UK CAA on operational matters, audits, inspections, and regulatory oversight
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory visits, and timely closure of findings and corrective actions
- Assist with manual development, operational procedures, approvals, and regulatory submissions

- Extensive rotary-wing operational experience in a commercial helicopter environment
- Previous involvement in postholder responsibilities or close support to AOC management functions
- Strong knowledge of UK CAA, AOC, and Air Operations requirements
- Experience of working with regulators, audits, and compliance processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware, professional, and customer-focused
- Experience on AW139, AW169, H145, or AW109
- HEMS and/or charter experience
Requirements
- UK CAA CPL(H) or ATPL(H)
- Valid Class 1 Medical
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
- Able to hold the position of Nominated Person Flight Operations Manager within a UK AOC structure.
