Job Description: Chief Revenue Officer (Jonas Fintech - UK)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
About Us
Jonas Fintech is a growing, profitable SaaS business at the heart of the UK payments market. We operate two established brands, Paygate and London & Zurich, delivering mission-critical Direct Debit and Bacs payment solutions that help businesses collect and manage recurring revenue at scale. Between them they serve a broad and loyal customer base built over more than 20 years of operating in this market.
The business has been commercially strong. We know how to sell, how to retain, and how to grow revenue. What we are now doing is matching that commercial engine with the product and technology capability it deserves. We are investing deliberately in modernisation, moving toward a product-driven model, and embedding AI across how we build, operate, and compete. This is the foundation for increasing the pace of the business's growth.
Jonas Fintech sits within Vesta Software Group, part of Jonas Software and Constellation Software Inc. This means we operate with the speed and focus of a standalone business, while having access to the capital, M&A pipeline, peer network, and long-term orientation of a global group operating across 17 countries. Vesta is a buy-and-hold acquirer of vertical market software businesses, in it for the long term, and Jonas Fintech is part of that family.
A full senior leadership team spanning commercial, product, technology, operations, and compliance is in place. The commercial infrastructure is established. The product investment cycle has started.
The Opportunity
The CRO owns commercial performance and commercial strategy across both Jonas Fintech brands, taking responsibility for Sales, Marketing, Account Management, and Customer Success. The role reports to the Managing Director and sits on the SLT. The mandate is to drive execution of the current growth strategy across both brands, and to take ownership of that strategy going forward, sharpening it, adapting it, and resetting direction where performance requires it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own commercial strategy for both brands: assess performance against the current growth plan and reset direction where a change of approach is needed
- Drive execution of the growth strategy across both brands, with full accountability for commercial performance (total revenue number, growth, base to base sales, pricing strategies etc)
- Lead two distinct sales motions in parallel: renewal-timed competitor displacement (Paygate) and inbound/partnering (London & Zurich), each with its own cadence and metrics
- Direct the marketing function: two marketing team members, brand positioning, demand generation, and go-to-market execution
- Lead commercial negotiation on partnering agreements, including review of legal contracts and liability terms (direct, consequential, third-party)
- Work with the CPO and CTO to align product roadmap with commercial opportunity
- Work with the COO to ensure operational delivery matches what is sold
- Work with the Head of Compliance to ensure commercial activity operates within regulatory requirements
- Represent the commercial perspective in wider business strategy discussions at SLT level
- Manage a team of approximately seven: two sales lines (each with new business and account management), two marketing roles, one business development/telemarketing role split across brands, plus a sales administrator

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Candidate Profile
- Experience operating in a regulated industry and managing sales teams within that constraint (experience with the FCA is ideal, not necessarily payments-specific)
- Proven track record of setting and evolving commercial strategy, not only executing an existing plan
- Track record managing more than one sales motion concurrently, with different metrics and cadences for each
- Experience executing and shaping commercial strategy over a sustained period
- Demonstrable commercial success in a sales leadership role
- Strong people management track record
- Able to read and negotiate complex commercial contracts personally
- Collaborative operating style, particularly with product, operations, and compliance functions
- Direct Debit or Bacs domain knowledge would be an advantage, but is not essential
This is a remote contract. As with all of our colleagues across all of our business, there is an expectation to meet in person at all-company town hall events and Vesta Group events. Beyond that, this role also carries its own travel, to partners, and to clients and prospective clients, as the work demands. Travel expenses are covered by the company.
The Vesta and Jonas Advantage
For the right candidate, the group context is a genuine differentiator, not a footnote.
- Access to capital and M&A pipeline: Vesta Software Group actively acquires and builds businesses within vertical software and payments markets.
- Peer network: you will operate alongside leaders across the Vesta and Jonas portfolio, with access to shared insight, leadership forums, and genuine peer to peer learning across the group.
- Long-term orientation: Constellation Software operates a permanent ownership model. Decisions are made with a time horizon that most private equity-backed businesses never experience.
- AI-first investment: the group is making deliberate, funded investment in AI capability across its portfolio. Jonas Fintech is part of that programme, not waiting for it.
- Leadership development: access to Vesta and Jonas global leadership events, cross-portfolio development programmes, and a network of operators who have navigated exactly the challenges this role will face.
What We Offer
- A competitive package structured to reflect the seniority of the role and reward the commercial outcomes we expect
- 25 days annual leave plus a day for your birthday or significant celebration
- Private Health Insurance
- Life Assurance at 4x base salary
- Enhanced company pension contribution
- Personal Travel Insurance
- Access to Benefiz benefits platform and a range of opt-in benefits
- Electric/Hybrid Vehicle scheme and Cycle to Work scheme
- 10-day rolling sick plan including extended illness pay
- EAP and Mental Health First Aider support
