We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, organised and compassionate practitioner to join our existing service for children and young people whose family members have been diagnosed with incurable illness.
With experience of working with children and families facing bereavement and an understanding of the social and emotional needs of children and young people, you’ll support families as they help children to understand and adjust to the changes caused by incurable illness, assist families to make plans for the future, and help ensure that children/young people are appropriately informed and involved in the decisions which affect their lives. You’ll have a recognised qualification in health, education, social care, play therapy or counselling and an understanding of the legal and structural requirements for meeting children’s’ needs, as well as a grounding in child protection.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
