Childcare Assistant – Copdock and Washbrook Pre-school

- £12.69 – £13.16 per hour
- Full-time or part-time
- Up to 40 hours per week (term time), 20 hours (holidays) or
- Up to 20 hours per week (term time), 10 hours (holidays)

About the Preschool
We are a small but highly engaged pre-school and wrap-around care provider, dedicated to delivering high-quality care and learning for children aged 2–11. Our setting offers:

Two Childcare Assistant positions are available, offering either full- or part-time flexibility.
Responsibilities
As a Childcare Assistant, you will play a key role in providing enriching experiences and high-standard care. Duties include:
- Delivering high-quality early learning and wrap-around care for children aged 2–11
- Supporting and implementing Early Years Statutory Framework requirements
- Acting as a key worker for assigned children
- Maintaining records on achievements, assessments, and developmental progress
- Ensuring children’s needs are met
- Collaborating with the manager and staff team to uphold the setting’s standards
- Maintaining hygiene and safety, including:
- Supporting personal care (nappy changes, potty training, toileting)
- Serving meals and snacks in line with setting policies
- Assisting in the ongoing maintenance of equipment and facilities

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 Childcare or equivalent (or above)
- Enhanced DBS clearance (due to safeguarding responsibilities)
- Experience in Early Years settings
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding regulations
- Ability to demonstrate care for and engagement with children, along with practical childcare skills

About Our Team
We are a committed and well-equipped setting, proud of our outdoor learning spaces and passionate team. Our current out-of-hours schedule is:
- Term time: 7.45am – 6pm (Mon–Thu), 7.45am – 4.30pm (Fri)
- School holidays: 7am – 4.30pm (3 days one week)
