Description
Position Title: Child Nutrition Worker/Floater
Department: Child Nutrition
Reports to: Child Nutrition Director/Field Manager or Designee
Status: Classified
Summary
Assists in preparing/serving nutritious meals to students/staff.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance;
- Properly stores food and/or supplies to ensure freshness and safety;
- Prepares foods as assigned;
- Sets up serving lines, attractively displaying foods and serves students;
- Portions food and may package meals to be taken to other locations;
- Runs dish room as assigned;
- Removes used dishes from prep/serving area; cleans counters, tables, and kitchen areas, sweeping and mopping as directed;
- Scrapes, washes, and puts away pots/pans/trays and other kitchen utensils;
- Removes trash to pick up area in a sanitary manner;
- Cleans refrigerator/freezers, storeroom, all food service equipment, serving lines, etc. as directed on a daily and yearly basis;
- Performs related duties as assigned by manager as required;
- Follows and implements district and state Child Nutrition policies as specified by Child Nutrition Manager, and/or Director;
- Works as cashier as needed or assigned by Child Nutrition Manager;
- Reports all food/supply needs to Child Nutrition Manager;
- Reports all staff or student concerns to Child Nutrition Manager immediately;
- Reports to Child Nutrition Manager daily for special work assignments as needed;
- Follows and carries out all cafeteria duties as assigned by Child Nutrition Manager daily;
- Participate in Professional Development to earn assigned Professional Standards annually;
- Understands that all Child & Nutrition employees are subject to transfers within the district at the discretion of the Child Nutrition Director or other administrative officials;
- Supports the Simpson County School District Core Beliefs and Mission.
