Spring Nursery RAF Waddington are looking for a new Nursery Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Early Years Educator apprenticeship Level 3.

Requirements

  • Early years educator (level 3) apprenticeship
  • Essential qualifications: Other in Childcare/Health&Social Care (grade Pass)
  • Skills: Creative, Initiative, Non-judgemental, Communication Skills
  • Ability to recognise when a child or colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Ability to apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Ability to apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management.
  • Ability to teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
  • Ability to use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child.
  • Ability to undertake the role and responsibilities of key person.
  • Ability to recognise and apply theories of attachment to develop effective relationships with children.
  • Ability to provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years.
  • Ability to advocate for all children’s needs, including children which require SEND or EAL support.
  • Ability to promote and facilitate children’s interpersonal communication to develop their social interactions and relationships.
  • Ability to support children to develop a positive sense of their own identity and culture.
  • Ability to support children to understand and respond to their emotions and make considered choices about their behaviours.
  • Ability to assess the responsiveness of the environment for effective child-centred experiences.
  • Ability to create inclusive, child-centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to create inclusive and supportive emotional environments.
  • Ability to apply strategies that support children’s ability to manage change, transition, and significant events.
  • Ability to analyse observation evidence to assess and plan holistic individual learning.
  • Ability to facilitate and support child-centred opportunities and experiences.
  • Ability to provide adult led opportunities and experiences.
  • Ability to use reflection to develop professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain accurate and up to date records and observations that fulfil Ofsted requirements and support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
  • To plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities for children within the setting and afterschool club, supporting physical play, creativity, communication, and social development
  • To provide a safe, stimulating, and well-resourced environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and develop independence through play-based learning opportunities
  • To support children’s individual learning journeys, recognising developmental milestones and adapting activities to meet the needs and interests of all children
  • To ensure the safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing of all children and staff within the setting, following safeguarding policies, procedures, and Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) guidelines at all times
  • To build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers, sharing information regularly to support children in reaching their full potential
  • To work effectively as part of the nursery team, contributing to daily routines, maintaining high standards of care, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment for children and families

About Spring Nursery RAF Waddington

  • We are committed to providing good quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
  • We are open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:30pm.
  • We provide a safe and friendly environment for your child to explore and enjoy, whilst learning through play.
  • We have bright spacious classrooms, a parent lending library and a variety of exciting outside learning environments.
