Role Description
The Childcare Lecturer is a full-time, on-site role based at the Nuneaton campus. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across childcare-related programs, ensuring that teaching is aligned with curriculum requirements and industry standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Get help with your application

- Preparing learning materials
- Providing constructive feedback on student work
- Supporting learners through tutorials, progress reviews, and pastoral care
The lecturer will collaborate with colleagues to:
- Develop course resources
- Contribute to quality assurance and course improvement activities
- Participate in meetings, events, and open days
The role also requires:
- Maintaining accurate records
- Promoting positive student attitudes and behaviours
- Upholding safeguarding and inclusion practices
Qualifications
- Relevant childcare or early years qualification at Level 4 or above, with up-to-date knowledge of childcare practice and legislation.
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or working towards a teaching qualification) and experience delivering further education or vocational courses.
- Strong lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment skills, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learners and support inclusive practice.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Ability to use digital learning platforms and standard IT tools to create resources, track progress, and enhance teaching and learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive education, with a learner-centered approach and focus on positive behaviors and outcomes.
- Experience in a professional childcare or early years setting is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with current sector standards and best practice.
