Site Director – Birmingham, AL
Territory: Birmingham, AL Pay: $17.00–$20.00/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–6 PM (school calendar; summer hours possible) Status: Part-time, Non-exempt Reports To: Area Director / Associate Executive Director Direct Reports: Site Staff

About the Role
As Site Director, you are the backbone of your Healthy Kids Programs location. Your responsibilities span program quality, staffing, compliance, and community engagement, ensuring a fun, safe, and high-quality experience for children and families. This role is ideal for someone who is:

- Families consistently re.enroll due to trust in the HKP curriculum and experience

- The site is fully staffed with prepared, supportive teachers
- High retention and strong team morale

Compliance
- Ratios met at all times; accurate, up-to-date records
- Ready for unannounced licensing inspections
- All staff hold required certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.)

Inventory Management
- Supplies and materials are well-stocked
- Teachers have all arts/crafts, academic, and activity resources they need
- Equipment is properly maintained and labeled
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Quality & Enrollment
- Lead a high-quality daily program aligned with HKP’s curriculum, values, and standards.
- Implement HKP’s 10 Healthy Ways to Engage with Students.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for every child.
- Build strong relationships with families:
- Proactively share updates and communicate openly.
- Promote enrollment retention and referrals.
- Participate in site outreach and enrollment events.
- Share program observations, family feedback, and enrollment trends with your Multi-Site Director.
2. Staffing – Supporting & Leading Teachers
- Supervise and support Lead Teachers & Assistant Teachers in daily operations.
- Model high professionalism and enforce expectations for workplace behavior.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to assess program quality and compliance.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to staff.
- Proactively manage staffing needs and flag coverage gaps.
- Assist with new staff onboarding for smooth transitions.
- Handle performance concerns or performance issues promptly and document training needs.
- Foster a collaborative team culture that values connection to HKP’s mission.

3. Payroll, Labor & Scheduling Efficiency
- Ensure accurate staff-to-child ratios (never over/under staffed).
- Review and approve timecards on time per payroll deadlines.
- Monitor payroll costs against budget and address overtime issues.
- Optimize schedules for minimal unnecessary overtime; maximize coverage.
- Communicate schedule changes clearly and proactively.
- Use Paylocity and HKP scheduling platforms effectively.
4. Compliance – Ratios & Site Safety
- Prioritize ratio compliance at all times (nonnegotiable).
- Maintain daily attendance records with accuracy.
- Ensure the site meets Alabama DHR licensing safety standards.
- Verify that all staff are certified in CPR, First Aid, and mandated reporter training.
- Prepare for unannounced inspections; maintain inspection-ready standards always.
- Report safety/health/compliance issues immediately to your Multi-Site Director.
5. Inventory Management
- Maintain an organized inventory of supplies (arts, materials, equipment).
- Monitor usage and submit restock requests proactively.
- Ensure teachers have program resources (supplies, lesson materials).
- Document and solve supply issues promptly.
- Promote responsible resource use and good stewardship.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
✅ High school diploma or equivalent ✅ Willingness to pass a TB test ✅ Ability to complete required onboarding and state-mandated training ✅ First Aid & CPR Certification (or commitment to obtain upon hire) ✅ Familiarity with Alabama DHR licensing standards (Arise system familiarity is a plus)
