I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our Children & Families Lead will have a key role alongside others in the formation of Children & Families ministries across Rural Cluster 3, supporting the creation of new worshipping communities, schools engagement, and the development of new ministries (such as after-school church, toddler groups, and Sunday service provision). A key part of the role will include releasing potential in others and developing children’s leaders and teams across the Cluster.
We believe ‘the harvest is plentiful’ (Luke 10:2) and are excited by the huge potential there is for growth as we partner together in this new way as rural churches. If you feel excited by that potential too then we would love to hear from you. For more information and for details on how to apply please see the attached documents.
