We are growing our Children’s Community Nursing Team!

Are you keen to support children & young people who need clinical nursing care closer to home?

We can provide a wide range of clinical care in the community & need a special children’s healthcare support worker to help us do this.

Our caseload can include a range of clinical care needs which will develop & maintain your clinical skills e.g. growth monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, baseline observations, wound care, enteral tube routine care, oxygen monitoring, venepuncture and some injectable medicines.

We will ensure you are supported by a robust competency based training & all our children’s care is led by the supportive Children’s Community Nurses within our team.

You could be working on your own in a clinic, supporting a colleague in a patients home/school visit or needed to support in our office base. Every day is different and making a difference to the lives of babies, children and young people is very rewarding.

About the Role

The post holder will work as part of the Children’s Community Nursing Team, in the delivery of clinical care to children and young people who have additional health needs.

The post holder will act under the direction of the Children’s Community Nurse (CCN-Registered Nurse) to deliver specific delegated nursing interventions to children and young people who have additional health needs and their families. This may also include children who are nearing the end of their life.

They will work in a range of community settings appropriate to the child and /or young person e.g. schools, clinics or homes to support the smooth running of the CCN service.

To assist the Children’s Community Nurses to ensure samples arrive at the laboratory in a timely manner and clinical supplies and equipment are safely maintained and available for direct patient care when needed.

Please note that the above vacancy requires you to be a qualified driver with the use of a vehicle for work purposes.
