Residential Team Leader – Therapeutic Residential Care
Location: Tadley, Bramley, Burghfield, Padworth (West Berkshire)
About the Role
At Amegreen Children’s Services, we deliver therapeutic residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in warm, supportive homes. Based in rural West Berkshire and Hampshire, we follow a trauma-informed, PACE-based approach to help young people feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
We’re seeking a Residential Team Leader to manage care teams, uphold high standards of care, and support the smooth running of the home. This position is ideal for someone with residential childcare experience looking to step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of Residential Support Workers
- Conduct regular staff supervision, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Work with the Registered Manager to maintain high-quality standards in care delivery
- Assist with audits, care planning, documentation, and risk management
- Role-model excellence in child-centred, trauma-informed care
- Ensure strict safeguarding, behaviour management, and compliance best practices
Shifts & Compensation
- Full-time (40 hrs/week) – typical shifts:
- 7am–3pm
- 2pm–10pm
- 7am–10pm
- Sleep-in shifts – up to 4 per month, paid £53–£63.60 per shift

What We’re Looking For
Essential requirements include:
- Proven experience in residential childcare
- Experience in (or preference for) senior or shift leader roles preferred
- Strong supervisory skills – confident in mentoring staff and fostering team growth
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification, or working towards)
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and safeguarding awareness
- Ideal but not compulsory: full UK driving licence (staff transport options available)
