Department: Residential Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time Location: Dove Cottage – Sandy Compensation: £34,402 – £35,025 per year

The Role

Hours: 173 hours per month Long shifts: 8am – 11pm (including sleep nights; 365-day service) Rotas provided in advance

Pay & Overtime:

  • Salary: £34,402 – £35,025 per year (depending on qualifications)
    • Hourly rate: £13.45 – £13.75 per hour (average based on 8 sleep nights/month)
  • Opportunity to pick up extra shifts/overtime at an enhanced rate

About the Home

Dove Cottage is a three-bedroom children’s home, providing:

  • Crisis intervention and trauma-informed therapeutic care
  • High-quality residential care
  • Tailored recreational activities (e.g. cinema, swimming, sports, creative programs)
  • Supportive, nurturing environment for young people aged up to 16

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be over 21
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered)
  • Must undertake an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Esland)

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver ** consistant, warm, and trauma-informed care**
  • Build trusting relationships with young people in care
  • Support in daily routines, fostering emotional stability & growth
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team (including managers, Early Help Coordinators, and enhancement specialists)
  • Contribute to a home environment focused on safety, equality, and individual aspirations
